What world would you like to live in?

Do you ever close your eyes and imagine what kind of world you would like to live in? It happens to me too! I think of a world in harmony with nature, where instead of an extractive model of development, a sustainable and regenerative one has made its way.

The Fairy World

This world has moved from an extractive model of development to a regenerative one. That is, this society has overcome inequality and defeated poverty. Its ecological footprint does not harm the Planet and all inhabitants live peacefully in fair and inclusive societies, providing a happy existence. Economic, social and technological progress takes place in harmony with Nature and all its inhabitants.

And now you are thinking: what a beautiful fairy world this is, but how could my organization or community and I contribute to the construction of such a world?

Your business is a force

Well, I guess there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, everyone has to find the path that best suits their challenges and needs. But what I can say with certainty is that embarking on a path of sustainable and regenerative development means being innovative, cutting edge, resilient and even profitable! It means fighting for a society that is fair, inclusive and regenerates the biosphere.

Think of it as a dual purpose: on the one hand you use your business to do business, while on the other hand you use it as a positive force for community, society and the planet.

Do you remember when you were a kid and your friend got that game we all wanted? Well, it’s as if that friend of yours invited you to his house to play when, in fact, he could just as well have played it all by himself and thought only of his own fun. But no, he invited you and to his fun must be added your own fun, and the fun generated by the fact that you are playing together. Yes, it is a victory for everyone and therefore also for you!

What’s already changing

To be perfectly honest… this is already a world that is under construction and is not just a result of my imagination. It is a world composed of many small green oases that are increasingly expanding, regenerating the way we approach business. One of these many green islands is the B Corporations (B Corp) movement, a community of profit organizations committed to being a positive, driving force for change for the good of people, society and the planet.

But B Corporations are just one of many movements contributing to the change that is happening these days. Just think also of all that revolves around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (17SDGs) and the United Nations 2030 Agenda, circular economy initiatives or ecosystem regeneration

The commitment of Peoplerise

With Peoplerise, we believe in this dream, and while it’s not an easy path, we are committed to becoming a B Corp. And I’m convinced that the winds of the future are pulling in that direction, but it would be too easy if the change we want happened with just a snap of fingers. It takes effort to be and to see the change we’d like, but I’m also sure it’s worth it.

We are trying, join us and the change!

AND NOW I ASK YOU AGAIN: YOU, WHAT WORLD WOULD YOU LIKE TO LIVE IN?
